Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hain is a new show on the star plus channel which started on 3rd October 2011 at the 8.30 pm slot. Set in the beautiful location of Rishikesh. This is a story of two sisters Jeevika and Maanvi who love each other very much, share their sorrows and happiness together. Krystle Dsouza and Nia Sharma are playing the role of the loving siblings. The two actresses have already been casted earlier in popular serials Kahe naa kahe where Krystle Dsouza played the character of Kinjal and Kaali-Ek Agnipariksha where Nia Sharma played the character of Anu.

Maanvi and Jeevika were raised by their parents in the upscale city of Delhi, but were orphaned in childhood. After losing their parents, they had to settle into a middle class, traditional family of Rishikesh, which is a stark contrast to their lives earlier. They learn to compromise their demands and luxury they had in their earlier life and try to fit into a traditional living style of their new family in Rishikesh. Jeevika is older to Maanvi by two years, but she is more mature than her little sister Maanvi a fun loving character who wants to fix everyone’s problem but gets everything messed up in the end. Jeevika as an elder sister rescues her every time.


The serial is really interesting as we see our not so mature Maanvi trying to bring Jeevika and Doctor Manan (Abhinav Shukla of Geet fame) together and stop the marriage alliance of Jeevika with Viren (Karan Tacker of Rang badalti Odhni fame). It is her apprehension that her sister will be happier with Dr. Manan. But in the recent episodes we see Maanvi having a change of heart as she realises that Viren will keep Jeevika more happy than Doctor Manan. Further her sister Jeevika shall be able to get the love of a mother which they both carved for. The rare story with the undying affection of both the sisters is so emotional and touching that it reminds everyone about their love for their sisters. The cute moments of viren and Jeevika and masale dar nok jhok of Virat(Kushal Tandon) and Maanvi in the serial has already made a place in viewer’s heart. Hope the story maintains its pace and does not lose the charm in the coming days.
